Teach The Children

Family and Community Builbing Programs

Family & Community Building Programs

Something For The Kids Inc. builds stronger communities by strengthening families and investing in youth through structured programs, mentorship, education, and wellness initiatives. We believe the health of a community begins at home—and strong families produce confident, capable children who become positive leaders.

How Our Programs Build Families & Communities

Education & Youth Development
Programs like Tomorrow’s Leaders, Smarter Kids, and K.I.P. (Knowledge Is Power) Camp provide early learning, life skills, academic support, leadership training, and career exposure. Parents are engaged alongside children, reinforcing learning at home and creating consistent structure.

Sports, Fitness & Discipline
Through Mac5Sports, 5U Flag Football, Fit Kids, 7v7, and skills camps, youth learn teamwork, discipline, accountability, and healthy habits. Sports become a tool for violence prevention, mentorship, and family engagement—not just competition.

Family Stability & Safe Spaces
Our mentoring, after-school support, and Safe Space programs offer consistent adult guidance, positive peer environments, and parent check-ins. These programs reduce idle time, promote emotional wellness, and strengthen family communication.

Feeding & Wellness Initiatives
By integrating meals, nutrition education, and community partnerships into programs, we address food insecurity—removing a major barrier to learning and family stability.

Our Goal

Our goal is to build America one child at a time by creating strong families, prepared youth, and connected communities. By bringing education, mentorship, sports, and resources directly into neighborhoods like Washington Park, we help families thrive—not just survive—and prepare the next generation to lead with purpose.

Family Growth

Get To Know Us

I never set out to be a football coach. Around the age of 30, I was watching my nephews play when their coach unexpectedly quit. My dad approached me and said, “I need you to coach the game.” That moment marked the beginning of my journey, and it has continued ever since.

As I coached, I couldn’t help but think back to my own childhood. Many of the kids in my neighborhood grew up without fathers, and my dad became a father figure to them. Every football season, I watched these kids grow and improve, but when the season ended, there was little to do but hang around the neighborhood. As they got older, the streets became more appealing to them. Slowly, they drifted away from my dad’s guidance and toward the street life. By the time they were too old for little league, many didn’t have the grades to play high school football, and the cycle continued. I lost too many friends to violence and the streets.

When I started coaching, I vowed to break this cycle. I told myself that when the season ended, I wouldn’t stop mentoring. I coached, trained, and mentored these boys from ages 4 and 5 all the way to 13, determined to provide consistency in their lives. And it worked—when it came time for graduation, all of my boys graduated, and many went on to play college football.

That experience taught me the power of consistency in guiding youth on the right path. However, I saw the next generation of kids in the neighborhood spiraling out of control. Seeing the news and hearing stories from the streets made me realize that I had to do more. I told my former players, "I need to make a difference." One of them said, "Coach, that’s it—Something For The Kids." In 2021, I founded Something For The Kids Inc., and by 2024, we’re still moving forward, committed to providing the guidance, mentorship, and consistency that can change lives.

To this day, I am a father to some and a father figure to many. I truly love my boys like they are my own flesh and blood, and I’ve restarted this journey with a new group of young men. My goal is to build an army of strong men and father figures who will give back to our youth. Together, we’re working to build a better future, one child at a time.
